The 7 Principles of Obsidian Healing Camp

  1. To Honor, Not Exploit – We honor the sacred, the Creator, and Mother Earth, recognizing our deep spiritual relationship with all living things. Our role is to protect and nurture, not to take for personal gain.

  2. To Protect, Not Divide – We safeguard the spiritual sovereignty of Indigenous peoples, ensuring that communities have the freedom to define and practice their own sacred traditions without interference or suppression.

  3. To Unite, Not Isolate – We foster connections between Indigenous nations and communities, creating spaces for shared knowledge, mutual respect, and collective healing. Through these connections, we build solidarity across borders.

  4. To Heal, Not Harm – We provide sanctuary for physical, spiritual, and mental wellness, ensuring that those in need—whether healers, seekers, or activists—can find balance, restoration, and renewal in a sacred space.

  5. To Empower, Not Control – We equip Indigenous nations and communities with the legal, spiritual, and organizational tools to establish their own religious organizations, reinforcing their ability to govern their sacred practices autonomously.

  6. To Guide, Not Command – We encourage community leadership and wisdom-sharing, ensuring that individuals can step into their roles as spiritual and social leaders without coercion or hierarchical control.

  7. To Build, Not Deplete – We recognize that activism, land defense, and community protection require strength and resilience. We provide spaces where front-liners and protectors can recharge, ensuring they return to their work whole rather than worn down.
